The Universal boring jig is designed to accurately and efficiently create dowel joints in furniture parts. Achieve high accuracy and efficiency. The individual holes are set 32 mm apart, which corresponds to the Euro standard for boring. The product is ideal to use with our HM carbide tipped dowel drills, which are clamped into the boring spindle the same way as in a boring machine.
Accuracy and simplicity when boring
The jig automatically creates an accurate corner joint with a 0,5 mm chamfer. End stops ensure alignment of jointed components from the front or rear.
Dowels and confirmates can be produced by a simple exchange of the drill in a bush.
Confirmate drilling
With the various drilling diameters, you can drill holes for confirmates or combined joints for dowels and confirmates. To produce confirmate joints, you will need to purchase the FKP102 boring spindle (optional accessory), this product is prolonged and can clamp 70 mm long drills. Confirmates are drilled the same way as dowels, in two steps. First, create a 7 mm hole in the surface of the workpiece. Next, select a drill according to the length of confirmate (40 mm – 60 mm range) and drill an edge bore 5mm in diameter. By dividing into two operations, you can simply produce combined joints with pins and confirmates. In that case, we recommend using more boring spindles with individual dowel drills. Joint production is fast and accurate and offers a professional look.
Unique drill casing replaces the outdated and demanding system of brazed steel casings and cheap steel drills, which lose their edge after only a couple of holes.
Workpieces 18 to 45 mm wide can be used with the jig, you will especially appreciate this when working with solid wood. The centres of openings are in the distance of 9 mm from the inner edge of the product. The unique boring spindle allows the use of HM dowel drills of different sizes from 3 to 12 mm. With the option to use different drill diameters, you can drill holes for dowels, confirmates, fittings, cup hinges, shelf supports or for euro screws and bolts.
