The Universal boring template is designed for precise and efficient manual surface doweling of furniture parts with Euro spacing of 32 mm, for drilling shelf supports 3 and 5 mm in diameter, drilling holes for handles and for drilling and marking of holes for cup hinges. FK900 offers templates for the drilling of the most common cup hinges. With the FKP900 template, you can make holes for both Euro screws or for washer hinges on corpuses. You can also pre-drill holes for hinges as well as mark a centre of an NK hinge. With the FKP900, you can achieve high accuracy and productivity both in a workshop or out on site. The template is designed for use with the FKP101 boring spindle, to which various drills can be clamped, ranging from 3 to 12 mm.
The surface boring template features integrated templates for shelf supports and cup hinges.
Working with the template is really fast. You simply set the depth of drilling on the boring spindle and mount it on your drill. You put the template on board, rest it on the stops and tighten the clamps or firmly hold it with your free hand. Thanks to the dowel drill with a guiding tip and scoring, you can drill holes easily, accurately and without burrs on the edge of the hole. It’s just easy and very fast.
Handle drilling
Drilling with a template is fast and accurate. With a wide range of holes for stops and thanks to 32 mm spacing between holes for the boring spindle, you can create precise bores in the workshop, out on a site, or on hung doors. After inserting the stop into the template and placing it on the door, drill out holes in the desired distance, which is based on the Euro standard of 32 mm (the pitch is in multiples of 32 mm). The template is fitted with mirrored stop holes for simple hole drilling for handles of right-sided and left-sided doors. Use a 5 mm drill bit for drilling.
Holes for cup hinges
Depending on the type of a cup hinge you are using, select the appropriate set of holes (screw spacing and centring of the cup, for example, 45/9 mm) and select a drill diameter for screws or euro-screws. After placing the stop in the template and putting it on the workpiece, mark the centre of the hinge with a tip. You drill the hole for the cup hinge with a cutter after taking away the template. The openings created this way are, thanks to the template, accurately spaced and are in the exact angle and required distance of 3-6 mm from the edge.
Holes for shelf supports
For shelf support drilling, use the main line of holes with 32 mm pitch. The stops will help you with an accurate angle of the template and will place the template in the desired distance from the edge. Drill out the holes in 3 mm or 5 mm, depending on the type you are using. The option to drill more holes at once is a great advantage. The jig is an ideal tool for on-site work or in a woodshop.
